Occupational Background: Coming from the ISP industry I am now engaged for 10 years in telco-business (web and mobile portals).
Working now 8 years for Hutchison 3G Austria I am the responsible Head of our digital portals and mobile marketing activities.
This includes not only the design and operation of the portal layer but also the user interface design as well as product usability.
Starting in 2002 with a couple of xhtml-pages we are now developing strategies for personalised content and mobile advertising.
Biggest challenge: as margins are getting tighter and tighter, everyone is looking for additional revenue streams – mobile marketing activities & services might be the way out of the trap.
Mobile usability is not only a matter of proper screen resolution and content structure – it requires a deep understanding of time and location based user behavior. “Meet the user where he is – not where he should be!”
